Summary of Duties:
The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences (SHS), Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, Washington State University Health Sciences Spokane, WA invites applications for a permanent, full-time, tenure-track, 9-month open rank appointment, rank will be commensurate with qualifications. This individual will be responsible for teaching undergraduate/graduate courses in SHS, conducting programmatic research, securing external funding, and providing service to the department, college, and university. The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Field of research is open.

The candidate is expected to begin at the start of the 2025-2026 academic year. Appointment term will be August 16-May 15 each year.

Required Qualifications for All Candidates:
- An earned PhD in speech and hearing sciences or closely related field prior to hire.
- Record of scholarly work with potential for and/or history of externally funded support
- Demonstrated ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, and with students from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented groups.
Preferred Qualifications for All Candidates:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Area of expertise is open; special consideration will be given to applicants with experience in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), voice, child language, or dysphagia

Annual Salary: $84,000-115,000 at 9-month academic year salary.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
