Based in our SIDNEY, OH location, you will provide support to Research, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing related to compressor technology. Our Sound and Vibration Engineering team utilizes state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and the latest technologies in modeling, testing, and analytical tools to reduce compressor/system structural vibrations and radiated sounds. Our S&V Engineering team is experienced and talented in the field of Acoustics and Structural Dynamics working globally with other Engineering Centers to ensure the goals of the company are met.

AS THE SENIOR / LEAD ENGINEER, SOUND AND VIBRATION, YOU WILL:
• Actively engage with Design Engineering teams to understand the impact of design changes on our products S&V performance.
• Work closely with Design Engineering teams to improve S&V performance during new product development programs.
• Provide guidance and consultation to Manufacturing teams related to the effects of assembly process changes and manufacturing process variability on our products S&V performance.
• Provide expert level S&V consultation to our Application Engineering teams and our customers related to utilization of our products in customer systems.
• Partner with customers to identify and resolve S&V issues related to the use of our products in their systems.
• Develop new and improve existing tools and analysis procedures in support of our laboratory, engineering, and manufacturing teams as well as our customers.

WHO YOU ARE:
You work in collaboration with other sound and vibration staff members to test and analyze compressors for Product Engineering. You will provide guidance on compressor design as it relates sound and vibration to meet or exceed marketing targets. You will be part of a large team that cultivates innovation for purpose of noise reduction and/or improved sound quality.

Required Skills – External
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Master's degree in acoustics, mechanical engineering, or related field
• Two (2) years of related experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of the laws that govern the generation, propagation, and control of sound and vibration
• Solid understanding of the theory of noise and vibration control
• Ability to effectively use analytical and experimental tools to find practical solutions to real problems or new design concepts
• Familiarity with tools related to general sound and vibration measurements, signal processing, modal analysis, numerical modeling, basic analytical modeling.
• Ability to travel up to 5% for the role.
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Five (5) years of related experience
• Experience in FEA (Static and Dynamic)

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours
Our Sound and Vibration Engineers are typically onsite in our office and laboratory 3-5 days a week. The days they work remotely are considered fixed but flexible enough to allow them to come into the office/laboratory when needed.
