The University of Mississippi's National Center for Physical Acoustics (NCPA) is seeking a Research Scientist I to conduct research in near surface soils. The primary focus of this research is on seismic and acoustic interrogation/characterization of the shallow subsurface. Potential research projects include: development of acoustic/seismic measurements of spatial and temporal changes in agricultural soil, geophysical monitoring of soil erosion processes, multi-geophysical approaches (seismic, EMI, GPR) to near surface characterization, buried hazard detection, data processing, inversion and interpretation of geophysical attributes. The candidate should have a minimum of two years Postdoctoral experience.
