Bose Aviation, Military, and Broadcast Headsets Group is seeking a passionate, hands-on acoustical engineer to take part in developing our next ANR and Communications headsets. You will be a key member of our cross functional team, working closely with your Bose engineering colleagues, and Internal and Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners to successfully develop and deliver our products to the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Define, build, and characterize physical prototypes of acoustic systems
  • Collaborate with engineering team members to design, build, and test Audio and Active Noise Cancelling Headphones
  • Investigate and develop acoustic system design concepts to achieve product performance requirements
  • Use simulation tools like Matlab, Simscape, Simulink, SPICE, and/or FEA to predict acoustic system behavior
  • Conduct acoustic measurements of components, subsystems, and full assemblies and perform thorough analysis of results
  • Work directly with DSP, controls, electrical, and mechanical engineers to tune and optimize system performance
  • Clearly communicate results through informal peer reviews as well as presenting at formal design reviews
  • Define, specify, and validate production test equipment and processes
  • Support prototype and production system builds both on-location at the factory and remotely
  • Collaborate with CM partners to develop and validate manufacturing assembly procedures to meet product performance requirements
  • Troubleshoot acoustic failures and recommend design changes to prevent future occurrences
  • Lead acoustic efforts on advanced development, production development, and continuous improvement programs including work planning and technical oversight, and coordination with Project and Product Management
  • Travel (domestic and international) required, approximately 4-8 weeks per year
