An overview of the standards program of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) is presented. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accreditation and the US voluntary consensus process are described. The structure of the ASA standards organization is explained and the roles of each Standards Committee are outlined.

These guidelines include the latest information regarding the preparation of draft documents. They should be used in conjunction with the ASA Standards Templates and are intended for working groups in preparing drafts of documents to be published by ASA.

Details for individual S committee meeting schedules to be provided at a later date.
