Currently most of our work is noise assessments for power distribution and generation, research, and environmental, and community noise.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Market Leaders are subject matter experts that plan and manage medium sized teams responsible for complex and large-scale projects within a geography or service line. They are responsible for the performance of the team and growth of existing markets, while working to identify new opportunities. Additionally, will have direct project management and work product responsibilities ensuring on-time and on-budget project delivery that result in high customer satisfaction and excellent business performance outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Execution (15%)

• Internalize RSG’s mission, vision, values, practices and strategies and speaks confidently, accurately and persuasively to advance all.
• Actively work in alignment with leadership to confidently and accurately operationalize strategies and tactics.
• Lead and guide a market/service line for a region, executing consulting engagements on-time and on-budget with RSG’s high standard for delivery.
• Develop project strategies that align with client and organizational goals, considering client objectives and industry trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve and expand service offerings.
• Guide project managers in managing project resources efficiently, including human capital and other project-related assets.
• Identify opportunities to optimize resource allocation to win and deliver work optimally.
• Identify opportunities for service enhancement and innovation.
• Monitor and drive accountability for on-time and on-budget delivery of high quality projects.
• Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, management of staff, including mentoring and development of staff.
• Mentor consulting leadership to enhance the overall capabilities of the consulting team. Ensures junior staff are receiving effective mentorship and guidance for growth.

Business Development and Client Relations (25%)

• Drive business development efforts to generate revenue.
• Play a key role in positioning the consulting division strategically within the market.
• Develop and nurture client relationships that contribute to growth of larger/longer relationships.
• Understand client needs and contribute to solution development, while acting as a key point of contact for clients.
• Identify growth opportunities within existing client organizations, and build new client relationships.
• Identify growth opportunities and contribute to new client acquisition or new types of existing client engagements.
• Identify opportunities for additional services.
• Maintain knowledge and information about industry trends and best practices to lead the development of market strategies and business plans.
• Actively participates in activities/industry events to advance the RSG brand.

Project Delivery and Management (60%)

• Provide operational direction on project goals and client deliverables.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery of projects.
• Responsible for full teams project delivery performance and ability to meet client expectations ensuring a high-level of client satisfaction.
• Provide oversight of the project portfolio and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Efficiently allocates resources, monitors and reports key performance indicators for project success.
• Drive accountability for key performance indicators, contingency planning and issue mitigation (e.g., difficult client conversations) to maintain high standards of performance and successful outcomes.
• Performs project-related tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree required
• Preferred areas of study: , math, acoustics, , physics, engineering, or a similarly relevant field of study
• Masters or other advanced degrees preferred
• 15+ years consulting and domain expertise
• PE or INCE Board Certification strongly preferred.

• Proven ability to manage regional professional consulting teams and large-scale/complex projects

• Experience using sound level meters and other sound measurement equipment
• Strong executive presence and presentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical materials in concise and meaningful ways to project team members and clients
• Demonstrated ability to build new and maintain existing client relationships that lead to new business opportunities
• Has an established network of client/contacts that will serve business development
• Strong organizational and project management skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Requires periodic travel

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Acoustical Specialist 3 (Senior Acoustical Specialist), we'll count on you to

  • Be a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization, resolve problems of greater scope and complexity, lead and manage acoustical and vibration assessments, and work on a wide range of projects
  • Plan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as needed
  • Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed
  • Serve as Project Manager on larger projects, though project management is not the sole focus of the position
  • Focus on tasks including architectural acoustics, building or environmental noise, and vibration-related analyses
  • Use state-of-the-art instruments to measure noise and vibrations and to process and analyze that data is required
  • Perform other related duties as necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Math, Physics or closely related field
  • 10 or more years of experience in environmental consulting with a successful track record of marketing, project management, staff management and client satisfaction, business development skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage in a team environment
  • Familiarity of local clients and markets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with GIS and GPS
  • Proficiency with state-of-the-art software used to process and analyze measurement data
  • Familiar with relevant ISO and related acoustical standards
  • Familiar with current guidance documents for acoustical analyses (FHWA, FTA, FRA, USIBC, etc)
  • May require travel

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • BS/MS degree in architectural acoustics, or five (5) years of successful experience in a consultative sales environment with primary focus on architectural acoustics
  • Experience in selling environment with multiple decision makers and influences

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Experience with active acoustic technologiesand other installed audio systems

What you will do on a typical day:

  • Provide acoustic product expertise with focus on performing arts (other markets include music education, worship, etc.)
  • Articulate product information and navigate sales opportunities at technical level; products include full stage shells, portable shells, motorized banners, active acoustic systems, modular music practice rooms, acoustic doors, and acoustic panels
  • Manage and strengthen key relationships (acoustic consulting firms and other industry professionals), lead outreach to new firms
  • Conduct periodical meetings, webinars, lunch-and-learns, CEUs, AIAs, etc. (online and in-person)
  • Utilize Salesforce tools and processes for customer relationship management (CRM)
  • Support other sales team members and design teams on new construction projects that include acoustic product solutions
  • Answer day-to-day questions about acoustics and support training efforts for all customer-facing employees
  • Understand internal processes and capabilities to optimize project handoffs for successful order fulfillment
  • Write/review technical documentation (construction documents) to ensure products meets bid specifications and work through exceptions
  • Review project scope of work and project pricing
  • Write/review project case studies and technical product documentation (acoustic data and test results)
  • Understand project stakeholders and expectations; advocate for consultant involvement and protect key relationships
  • Determine if/when/where appropriate for Wenger to provide consultative services on projects (basic acoustic analysis and recommendations); clearly communicate limitations of Wenger’s product offering and expertise
  • Conduct in-situ room acoustic and sound isolation measurements
  • Attend major acoustic and music industry conventions/exhibitions (ASA, NCAC, NoiseCon, InfoComm, NAMM, USITT, ICfAD, etc.)
