Air Force Research Laboratory, Battlespace Acoustics Branch

Location: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH

The US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is seeking a full-time engineer or scientist to participate with the Battlespace Acoustics Branch team on a wide range of noise and physical acoustics projects.  The internship will last for one year. 

In the Battlespace Acoustics Branch, the successful applicant will assist with measurement, evaluation, and advanced research of defense-related noise topics such as aircraft noise, impulsive weaponry, hearing protection, structural acoustics, and communications. 

The ideal participant will have:

  • S. or Masters in Acoustics Engineering or Physics,
  • Experience with acoustic signal processing (Matlab desired),
  • Experience in acoustic data collection using National Instruments systems and LabVIEW programming skills,
  • Superior skills in written and verbal communication of technical ideas, and
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

The successful applicant will also have strong organizational skills and good attention to detail.
