Acoustics Consultant

Acoustic Distinctions has an immediate opening for an entry-level Acoustics Consultant to join our team in Stamford, CT. The successful applicant may be a recent graduate in acoustics, architecture, mechanical engineering, or other related degree program who is self-motivated, inquisitive, has excellent problem-solving skills, and would like an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects in a collaborative work environment offering opportunities for professional growth.
Candidates should have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas through writing, drawing, and speaking. The position involves regular interaction with architects, engineers, and other members of the design team; as well as owners, operators, contractors, and prospective clients.

The position requires:
• Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and structural plans.
• Proficiency with computer drafting and BIM programs, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Understanding of basic acoustic principles and applications to real-world applications in building acoustics, such as room acoustic design; sound isolation and mechanical noise control
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Compensation will include a full benefits package with health insurance, 401K, medical, life insurance, and liberal vacation policy. Other benefits include Adjusted Work Schedule option, commutation allowance, and generous continuing education allowance.
