Standards Terminology Definition Search

All terms from Standards S1.1 and S3.20 have been incorporated into a new searchable terminology definition database.  Key acoustical definitions are now at your fingertips.  Search for your terms here.

Simply use the search box or click the alphabetical keys or on the term in the list display.

Additional feature: When viewing any of the working group documents on asastandards.org, terms which are defined within the Standards Terminology Database are displayed as "hover" tooltips that link to the full Standards definiton.

All terms in this database are taken from ANSI/ASA S1.1 Acoustical Terminology and ANSI/ASA S3.20 Bioacoustical Terminology. The latest versions of these documents remain the primary references. Please report any suspected errors or omissions to asastds@acousticalsociety.org.
