Bury named Managing Editor

Bury comes to JASA from the American Journal of Kidney Diseases (AJKD) where she served for nearly eight years in the successive roles of Editorial Assistant, Features Manager, and Associate Managing Editor. At AJKD, she worked with clinician editors to ensure the timely publication of high-quality educational and special-interest articles. She also managed the journal’s official blog and social media presence.

Bury earned a BA in English and a BA in Humanities from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL and earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College in Boston, MA.

James F. Lynch, JASA’s Editor-in-Chief, said “Elizabeth (‘Liz’) Bury will be a very welcome addition to our staff, and should greatly improve our timeliness, our processes, and our overall presence as a Journal. She will work closely with both JASA and JASA-EL. Her job will include routine interaction with our staff, editors, authors, reviewers, publishers, and the Acoustical Society in general. Liz will be attending the Salt Lake City ASA meeting, and we hope that ASA’s members and officers will get a chance to say “Hello” to her there!”

"We are especially pleased to have found a Managing Editor with the experience and interests that so closely match the needs of the Society's growing publishing program," said Mary Guillemette, ASA Publications Manager.
