Junior Noise and Vibration Consultant

Acentech, a nationally recognized multi-disciplinary consulting firm specializing in acoustics, vibration, and audiovisual system design seeks to hire a junior level con­sultant to work in our Noise and Vibration Group based in Cambridge, Mass. The ideal candidate will have:


  • An advanced degree in Engineering, Physics or a related field, with specialization in acoustics and vibration
  • 2 to 4 years of related technical experience
  • Experience working on projects related to building vibration and noise assessments, as well as an interest in environmental noise and product noise
  • A working understanding of vibration isolation and noise mitigation analysis
  • Experience using microphones, accelerometers and measurement instrumentation, and a willingness to perform field work anywhere in the U.S.
  • Working knowledge of sound and vibration data processing methods and analysis
  • Experience with Matlab, as well as proficiency with standard spreadsheet programs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • An interest in developing business and an eagerness to be one of the “faces” of Acentech
  • Demonstrated passion for his or her work


Particular aptitude for client-facing, hands-on consulting is a big plus, as is proven experience with project management.

Acentech’s consultants support the firm’s marketing and business development efforts, and are involved with all aspects of project management and client communications – from writing proposals to the final report.
